On March 29th, the ISEC Office organized a special training event with the theme of "Integrating Critical Thinking into Teaching (Science and Engineering Fields)". Teacher Wang Liling, the supervisor of our college, led a team to participate in this training.
This training specially invited Teacher Chen Hao from the Teachers College of Columbia University in the United States as the keynote speaker. Teacher Chen gave a wonderful lecture titled "Teaching Design with Critical Thinking as a Tool". The lecture content was rich and highly instructive. On the one hand, Teacher Chen guided the participating teachers to deeply study the relevant theories, methods, and frameworks of critical thinking - based teaching design, and shared numerous practical design ideas and cases. On the other hand, he encouraged the participating teachers to start from a micro - level, deeply analyze the unique characteristics of science and engineering majors, and explore effective methods and tools to improve teaching skills, injecting new vitality into science and engineering teaching. At the meeting, Associate Professor Tang Zhiguo from Jilin University also shared his teaching experience. During the training, the teachers from our school actively interacted with those from other schools, conducting in - depth discussions and exchanges.
This training achieved fruitful results. It not only helped ISEC teachers successfully establish a critical thinking model but also enabled them to master the method of teaching design using critical thinking as a tool. It significantly enhanced the teachers' ability to integrate critical thinking into teaching practice and achieve effective transformation.
